Implementation of the European Parliament resolution of 6 July 2000: call for the recognition of the Tibetan government in exile.

Vote for a new resolution

On 6 July 2000, the European Parliament passed a resolution calling on "the governments of the Member States to give serious consideration to the possibility of recognising the Tibetan Government in exile as the legitimate representative of the Tibetan people if, within three years, the Beijing authorities and the Tibetan government in exile have not signed an agreement on a new Statute for Tibet, through negotiations organised under the aegis of the Secretary-General of the United Nations".

Unresolved to this day, the implementation of this resolution is now more than ever justified (see "Campaigns").

In 2009, please ask your European Deputies (MEPs) to vote for a new resolution calling for recognition of the Tibetan government in exile.
